More Bank Failures???, Real Estate Crash???

Miami has another 29% in depreciation coming in 2010 (mostly overbuilt condos crashing but it brings down the average). Was #1 in the nation for markets set to lose more.
House on my street just sold for 100K more than the guy built it for in 2002 so if you bought it right and didn't go crazy with the financing you are still ok just lost the crazy high profits that could have been had a couple years back.
 
Here's my question... How long before the left stops blaiming Bush and starts blaming the current administration?

I will be the first to say that "W" was one of the worst presidents I have seen in my lifetime. He was as bad as Carter. Maybe worse!

But Obama has been the president for 10 months. He has a Democratic majority in both houses of Congress. There is absolutely no excuse for why he can't fix things... except that he can't! :mad:

Wake up liberals. Obama is just another worthless politician.

Repairing everything that is wrong in this economy ain't like poppin' some viagra to give the claymates a quick fix... :sifone:

It took us a long time to get where we are today- dumbya had EIGHT YEARS to add his crap to the problem.

Have some patience, man.

The real problem started with LBJ and the "Great Society" aka welfare state.

LBJ and W the worst presidents. Carter just the biggest puzzy to be president which puts him third behind LBJ and W.

Junior's fiscal stupidity just kept the accelerator pressed to the floorboard as the economy went over the cliff. :ack2:
 
Presidents get the blame or credit for what's wrong or right, the only real power the POTUS has is the veto and even that can be over ridden.

Now you are getting to the truth. You can look at anything you want too, but when the Dems (liberals) took over both houses two years ago the problems started to occur at a rapid rate. And, have continued to this day.

But, prior to that, there are the two big issues that caused the problem at a Presidential level. And they have control of trade. NAFTA, and China's MFTS. Other than those, it's just everything the government has any control of. Post Office, flight before dereg, automobiles through CAFE requirements, Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, now banking, investments, and soon health care.

Total Cluster Fork.....:boxing_smiley:

Maybe but we might see 11s before, a lot of this rally 9200 to 10000 was actually caused by shorts covering.And it seems to want to run a little more job loss claims were up 12k over last weeks 512k and those are just initial claims but market did not care rallied at the close and now Asia is up across the board.Picked up some HIG at the close on Wen when it tanked made some nice coin when I sold some the rest might hit my trigger tomorrow so I am long right now but very cautious.If we do hit 11 it won't last and watch out in Jan. if GDP fell in 4th 1/4
Dollar should start rising toward the end of the month so if oil hits 85 I am shorting it.
 
just remember , in this economy, employee salaries and bennies really eat int the bottom line but....

I graduated high school when the unemployment was at 10%. I didn't have a problem finding a job. I know a lady who manages a grocery store of a large chain. She's says the has people with college degrees begging her for ANY job. They must have a new way of figuring unemployment.

What they have done is eliminate;

Anyone who is not currently collecting unemployment.

Is collecting unemployment under extended benefits.

Is not currently registered with a state run job search site (therefore not "actively" searching).

Is working a part-time job because that is all that they can find.

The real number is over 18% nationwide, and 21% in Michigan according to their own numbers.

The other scary thing, total of those working last month at a full time job....... Averaged nationwide, 33 hours of pay...... The equivalent of another 20% unemployment.
