I just got an email from my friend Ocke Mannerfelt, who designs the (in)famous "batboats". Vector has just completed a totally new 40-footer with retractable wings and a pair of Teague 1200's.

"We are working more than ever here with many new and interesting projects.

The new Vector 40 are now ready and will be presented at the Key West races in November.

Its awesome and does 128 mph right now .

I've been waiting for pics of that boat every since the vid with the models and hardly showed the boat at all. I wonder if it handles like the 24's. If so, some passengers are gonna have the crap scared out of them with a hard running driver.....:sifone:

Based on my experiences with my 28 footer, the 40 footer should be the Cadillac of the fleet...

I'm thinking about a really hard corner at speed...:sifone:

great looking boat, but 128 mph with 2400hp? I would have expected much more with the effiecency of the 24 & 28 hulls

I would expect well over 128 with that power as well. Early days yet...

I've had no problems docking mine for years. It's all about proper fender selection....

The V-40 from Vector is amazing, has some really cool features and photographs beautifully. It's on the cover of the new issue of Powerboat, which is being printed this week. Unfortunately we haven't tested it (this was a first-look) , but our sources say it rides comfortably and turns like a champ. Rex and everyone at Vector should be proud.
