Im a big Hustler fan and former Sligshot owner but the Hull is not a good canidate for 1000hp motors. The hull does not handle well over 90mph. It was only designed to run fast with stock 500's. On some of the newer 388's the strakes are cut back for less stern lift for over 100mph speeds. You cant cut the strakes back on older ones.

This is a fact..

sell the motors, get some 500-650 hp, throw some asd-7's and your set. Bulletproof 95mph rig

A friend owned 2003 38 Hustler with 675 Eickerts and ASD7's , the boat flew(118mph) but very scary.

Team Tsunami and Jassman have the same info that Fiore told me at a boat show many years ago!

also, is it a lake or ocean? They'll pound the fillings out of your teeth in rough water...

Thanks for all the info guys! Doesn't sound like the right boat.. The motors are in a 28 Mirage right now  He really wants something that will run close to 115-120ish..

that's the fastest accelerating 38 to date. So much torque it will lay it on its side... The motors and drives exceed the hulls capabilities over 100mph. The 39 rockit is designed for above 100mph.
