That way the sponsors are happy by sponsoring a winning boat, egos are happy by winning their class, but actual racing, and bragging rights, happen too so fans and potential TV is also happy. It's kinda like melding the old open class and the new 37 classes into a group of 3 or 4 like you're talking about, without all of the fallout.....

That's the whole problem we as a whole have become a group of appeaser's whether you speak of offshore or anything else, Someone has to come in second, and further down the list. not everyone can be a winner. And irregardless of how much money one has doesnt certainly make them a winner.

No matter what the group or sport, if everyone get's a checkered flag whats the point, everybody can sit in the bar and drink.

The Sport doesnt need a top gun at each race, the sport needs unity and a distinction between National series, and regional series.

And my point would be to run them together. Start with one pace boat, have them not only get their flag for the class they are in, but an extra trophy, and prize money, for Top Gun overall of their group.

This is just a avenue of opinions, we all have them. It starts with the organizations, they lurk here as well. From there it's the racer's they also come here and many lurk. As T2x said it will only change when we are down to one boat.

Why is it though a group in the ME can sustain a Catob class only?? or Class 1 which at best has 10 boats. We know money has a lot to do with it, but many here in the states marvel at the racing they have!

Money. X-Cat had over 1 1/2 million in prize money I believe for the season. Class 1 had more yet.....

Time for a reality check, there arent that many sponsors compared to the number fo flags given.

I don't think flags are really a sponsors primary concern. Sure everybody wants to be associated with a winner, but 20 boats and 20 flags isn't a selling point either.

Sponsors just want a ROI, a 50 dollar flag isn't it.

Most motorsports there is only 1 flag per race, doesn't seem to hurt their ability to gain sponsorship.

Provided OPA starts off in ocean city again next year, and I am at the races doing medical, I will provide each team that races with 2 "Phragle RoQ Racing" stickers and $2.00 cash money. This will make me a sponsor and I will be cool!!!! if everybody does there part..we can save the world!!
