The Great Unification

Sean, you should have pulled the weight out of the front with the 6 blades.....

T2x can do the commentary from the air... You might have to get him a T-38 or an A-10) jet to keep up with the superboats...

Here's an idea. Is there any way to do a poll on this site? Simple question, inshore or offshore?

-Start a new thread.
-Towards the bottom under "additional options," click "Yes, post a poll with this thread"
-Enter the number of options, in this case it would be 2, and then submit your new thread.
-Following will be a screen allowing you to fill in the wording for your choices.

:)

It doesn't matter who is fastest in the ocean. Offshore needs to be open water where the first guy to turn one doesn't always win. You would not have to worry about 1/10 mph or have all these nit picking classes like V extreme, SuperV unlimited, SuperV, P1, Manufacture stock.....

It originated as a contest of skill and endurance. The upper classes have become a shoot out with turns.

the answers are before us
LIMITED TO 1 CAT CLASS, I V CLASS, REGULATED BY ENGINE BUILDS USING BLOCK, HEADS, INTAKE, CARBS, HEADERS, AND GEAR RATIO. THEN IT WILL BE THE SKILL OF SET UP AND DRIVER TMAN COMBOS.
ALL OTHER CLASSES NEED TO RUN ON SATURDAY. IT THEN TURNS INTO A REAL EVENT.
2 DAYS OF RACING AND PRACTICE. ACTION ALL DAY LONG.

New motors for everyone except who? Supercat 750's?

How do you get the others to give up EFI's and Blowers?

First problem I see is agreeing on which Motor package. Generally everyone can agree on the Saturday classes as you call them.

Second problem is there are many more Racing on Saturday.

Aside from that I think it is a great idea.

you could run 2 cat classes 1 spec ie...525 or ? the second unlimited ? motors? drives? at the same time ,,,,and 2 v classes the same way.. just like scca does, that would fill the day with a lot of boats and it would look like only 2 differant classes ,,, v,s and cats ,,,, others run sat,, cat outboards and svl,s could be sat features,

The problem is getting all the owners to agree. You can't expect the sanctioning bodies to do it, they are afraid of losing customers if they limit the classes. The owners of the "big boats" need to come together and put a plan in place to transition from the current class structure to one that makes sense to everyone.

And then convert the P boats back in to " A + B " class.

YEP ,,cool.

BOTTOM LINE if all the org,s put out a rule book with 5 classes in it and said this is all were going to run in 2012 with rules for 3 years,, real racers would build to the rules, and show up in one of those classes,,, like stock cars, everyother wanabe racer with their bay boat and the rear seat removed, would race on fri or sat. this sport is not driven by competition any more,, it,s mine is bigger,,,mine cost more,,,mine is petty... do they really want to compete against 20 other boats alike????

i agree,,, cat lite is the perfect cat class,, and maybe a super cat class do the same with v,s the big question,,, DO THEY REALLY WANT TO RACE AGAINST 20 OTHERS,, they have the money, why don,t they?

But,,hey ...mine is bigger...LOL

..... all joking a side,,i agree !!!

Fans like boats flying out of the water. Especially if they are side by side. Watch this clip and tell me that it isn't better than the short courses.

Thats why I said "big waves and turns". Running out into the Ocean for 2 hrs and then coming back will never get funding. If you owned the hotel or bar on the beach would kicking in $5-10k to see boats leave and then get towed back?
