Some really nice shots there.....

Thanks for sharing.

And that is also a nice, unobtrusive, watermark that prtects the shot without overwhelming the viewer. Thanks again.

How far down is the lake from narmal level? Is that from working on the dam or draught?

Hi Paul,

Thank you for the compliment. I set the opacity low in PS, with the intent of sharing my images, without, taking away from the images. I'm still working on angles, location, & layer settings. :)

Regarding Cumberland. The lake is down to about 680 Ft. I've always been told that normal pool is 705 Ft. However, the tip sheet on the Lake Cumberland website, says treeline is 725 Ft. Either way, the lake has been drawn down, to alleviate pressure on the dam, as the Corps', continues' their reinforcement project. It has been a very rainy Spring & Summer for Kentucky. There is very little drought like conditions', in the state, except maybe over towards Paducah, which typically turns dry, by summers' end.

Regards,

Tom from LC.com here. These have to be the best pictures of our annual poker run. What is your camera/type of equipment your using? They are so clear! The boats are awesome!

You said during the run you guys blew a water/cooling line and had a little fire. Did you loose the engine too? I imagine it only takes seconds of no water with motors like that.

Great shots!! I second the unobtrusive water marks. Bold watermarks detract from the quality of the picture.

Thanks for the great pictures....

Many thanks to taking time for sharing !!!!!!Very Great Shot !!!!

You are very welcome. Thank you for the compliment.

Hi Tom. I am trying to recall, where we met at LC. The Helo perspective is nice, but who says' you can't get good running shots, from being on the water :) Camera type- Canon 1D Bodies + 40D, Lens type- 16-35/2.8 (accounts for most of the Ultra Wide Angle shots), 70-200/2.8, 300/2.8, & a Teleconverter, for extra reach :sifone: I had a blast shooting the poker run, & will definitely be back. Luckily, I only live 2.5 hrs away :) The clear ones', are the ones' I kept. I deleted about a 1000 images of the poker run, that were either Out of Focus, or half chopped off.

To my knowledge the Engine is fine. Yes, a water line broke, which caused, the manifolds, to superheat, and cause a slight fire. Whole thing happened in about 5 minutes, from noticing the fire, to putting it out, and then waiting for help. With the fire, initially, it was thought that the wires, to the bilge pump, had been burned, however, beyond that I do not know anything. I haven't talked to the team, since last Monday.

Wow, awesome shotz!!! Thanx!!:sifone:

Thank you for the compliment. I had a blast. I know its' a lot of pixs to look through, but I thought I should post a decent amount, instead of just a few.

Thanks for the great pictures....

Thank you for the compliment. Thank you for seconding Paul's statement, regarding my watermark. So far, I have received good feedback, b/c it does not take away, nor does it destruct, the image in any way.
