Car prices after cash for clunkers

Say a $24K car is worth $12K in 2 years.

Say you bought it Cash for clunkers at $16K vs the original $24K; is it going to be worth $12K in 2 years still or with the same rate of depreciation will it be worth $8K?

Just bought a brand new pontiac g6 for $15,100 1 month ago. It had a $24k sticker. This was without the cash for clunkers rebate as well. There was GM loyalty and gm card member top-offs that stacked on top of pontiac rebates and other GM rebates.

Funny thing is, I could probably go sell it right now for 19k easily. But I would have to pay alot more than $15,100 now to replace it.

19K probably not......it is a used Pontiac, soon to be out of production. The out of production value skyrocketing usually has more to do with exotics like Ferrari than commuter cars.....Plus used you can't offer the 0% most buyers want.

If gm called me and offered 100 new pontiac's, Ide take everyone.
