My 28 with twin 502's needs to go NOW. $20k FIRM.

Damn, That is a hell of a deal. If I didn't have my boat still not finished and too much money tied up in a motor I would be all over it. What about a trade for a 24' baja and you keep both of your motors. :D

Shawn, that boat is sharp as hell man. If I still have it, I would be interested in a trade plus $$$ deal on yours. It's looking like it'll be gone this weekend as I have a bunch of pretty serious buyers on the line.

Thanks for the compliment on the boat, Chris. I wish you luck in your sale! If things happen to fall apart in a few weeks....We may talk again.

Shawn

As many of you know, I checked my oil a few weeks ago after our first time out of the year and it was milky on the port side.

Here's an update:

Talked to my father and a couple of friends about how I should run the boat yesterday on the fresh oil...

We determined that, since everyone I talk to that's interested in the boat is treating the port motor as worst case scenario and suggesting it 'may need a motor' or a complete rebuild, (which I understand) it made no difference whatsoever if I ran it on the clean oil yesterday to see if the milky oil came back. My rationale was that with potential buyers treating it as if the port motor doesn't even exist, what difference does it make if further damage is done?

This may seem nuts to some of you, but the price is what matters to me, and if I hurt it worse it's not like the price is going anywhere.

SO:

Ran it pretty hard in 3-4 foot rollers from diversey harbor to the playpen and back, saw about 68 or so in repeated jaunts to WOT (was paying attention to keeping her flying level than the speedo to be really honest.)

And, whattya know? Checked the oil afterwards and it still looked new. No milky oil whatsoever. I made my friend take a video of me checking the oil at the marina once the boat was on the trailer, and it clearly shows that the oil looks good. I'm not playing any games and I'm not going to jack the price back up, but she appears to be more or less turn key (although I'd still get it looked at if I were to buy it.) If it doesn't sell this week, and it looks like it will, I'll be on it on the fourth. For sure. I wonder if what happened was that I had some water enter the engine through the exhaust at some point that first day out?

And FWIW, the boat looked great getting pulled to the lake yesterday... It was almost as much fun driving through Lincoln Park in Chicago and getting all the thumbs up and chicks waving at us and whatever as it was floating around on it with 5 girls on it yesterday. :D

If anybody wants the video of me checking the oil, send me a PM.

Working deals with 4 or 5 different potential buyers.

She's still available though, and I'll be on it saturday and sunday.

PS: Checked the port oil today and it was still clean.

Hey Chris. How did your Holiday Weekend go with the boat? Is the water in the oil issue still not an issue? Is she sold yet?

Ran great this weekend... No water in the oil in the last 3 outings.

Here are some pics... Speedo shot is from saturday. Port tach is on the blink. Saw 1-2 mph faster than this yesterday in 1 fters.

Wow, this is blowing my mind.

She runs almost 80 last weekend with 6 people aboard, 3 loaded coolers and 2/3 a tank of gas, and still no takers?

Just saw on the other site that Brad Zastrow bought it. I'm very curious to see how this ol' girl turns out considering how his MTI and 32' Skater looked. Could we see sixes and big PSI blown monsters on it? :reddevil:

Haha no kidding.... That guy's pretty serious. Great guy to deal with too. No bull$hit.

I asked what his plans were for the boat, and he said he was going to keep the power as-is, that he just wanted a nice wave crusher for the chain.

I was skeptical. :USA:

I laugh everytime I scroll down and catch "I checked my oil yesterday..."

Anyhow, what's next? You going to look at that black boat?

Congrats on the sale!

So now Brad is a part of the familia.
Sean, you gonna teach him the handshake?:biggrinjester:

I'm under doctors orders... Not currently allowed to speak to anyone who owns an air-entrapment hull boat, for reasons related to my own personal safety and domociliary well being... :sifone:

Yeah, probably not a good idea for you.

That would be like Kirstie Allie walking into Pizza Hut at lunch time buffet at 11:00 am when they brought out the first pies.
Vallerie B might walk that road as well.

Unbuttons her pants, sits down and growls "bring it on, MF'er" at the waitress... :26:
