Thunderman: The Don Aronow story

I grew up around boats thanks to member J-Bonz. I just purchased my first my boat 6 mos ago, Im fascinated about the life and origin of what we have come to enjoy. Ive been reading countless stories on the internet about who he actually was, but i want more. I seen this link on the net about this thunderman movie and cant seem to find where any actual audio or video history is. I see Bob saccenti on here and respect the fact that he talks to us like were average joes. In no other industry you will find the godfathers actually take time to spend it with the little guy. I am a powerboater even though my scout is 21'. But the most important thing ive learned so far is, no matter the size of your vessel, were all family.

This topic comes out alot on OSO and other forums. I dont think the movie is out in video stores yet. I did also hear that Charlie McCarthy and Aronow Jr, are putting together a videow with exclusive footage of Don racing the original "The Cigarette" Cary boat.

I did commentary for two of the documentaries. One was on A & E City Confidential about the Miami life style, and Don Aronow. Also did the documentary by Silvio Sardi which previewed at Cannes film festival to not so great reviews, I heard it was reeditied but not available to the public yet. If you go to you tube and punch in thunderman the Don Aronow story you can get a preview. I am in the one marked promo. My interview is first and then George Bush Sr. Freezeframe has the City Confidential story on DVD, they were giving copies out at the recent Sunny Isles race. By the way Bobby S. built me a custom 21` scout, I ran a pair of merc. 2.5 `s on it. It was called Allyson`s Apache, and was really cool. enjoy your scout, old school with lot`s of heritage. Thanks for being a fan.

Bobbie is a great guy. It is good to see the real fore fathers of our business and
sport on here. I have been lucky to know a lot of them including Bob. He built a
very cool 36 Apache for a customer of mine that was an FBI agent. He even built
a custom holder for his sniper rifle. Those were the good ole days on 188th street.

Tank knows one of the people involved with the "new" Thunderman movie. Supposedly it's being completely redone with a very big name director/producer. Maybe Tank can fill in the blanks...

Happy to hear you remember the Tribal Law Apache. The owner was a member of the FBI swat team.. I thought he was kidding me when he ask if I cam build in a special compartment for his M-16 and 6 magazines..

Funny story was when I was contacted by a film crew, asking if I can supply them with a Apache to use for a running shot with Miss Penthouse. The name of the movie was “In Bed with Amy Baker”. I called the owner and ask if I can use his boat for the shoot.. He said why not.. Besides the boat being in the Movie, the film clip was shown on the playboy cannel many times. I have a copy of the clip and will ask SOS Chris and see of he will post the clip someplace.?? Its rated X

Yes, the word from my neighbor...Who is a producer for Ridley Scott (Scott free pictures) is that the script is written for a major theatrical movie about the life of Don Arronow. They had bought the rights to Dons sons book and were going to use it for a basis for a screen play but that book didn't have all the good stories that the producers heard over the years. The girls, the drugs, the dealins with Ben and others, etc.

They got a writer and wrote an "American Gangster"-esq script. But I guess it was not that good and are waiting on re-writes. Meanwhile other scripts that are ready (i.e. get pushed to the top of the pile and turned into movies.

Also, the economy is hurting the studios too. Movies that are a bit more of a roll of dice such as this (possible small market) are riskier.

Next time I see him I'm going to pin him down for a real update. We'll see.

I will try to get in touch with Chris this week, maybe SOS will post it someplace appropriate..

Mr Saccenti...it can be posted in the "Bad Boys" forum.

As soon as I get in touch with Chris, and he approves. I will mail the clip to him.. Also the copy I have is in VHS format..

Now I hope that the SOS viewers will not only focusing on Miss Baker.. But will notice the fine upholstered detailing on our beautiful Apache engine hatch cushion they are filming her on….
