Reactive Attachment Disorder

You may be surprised who that may include

Doesn't matter to me. Zero taxes are zero taxes. If I own a business, I can still lobby with other businesses to be heard. But, that small group of voters is nothing compared to the voters who put people in office to take from the productive to give to the unproductive.

I'm not positive, but it was either Jefferson or Franklin who said that once the voters figured out they could vote thremselves money it would be the end of this democracy.

But, he is an extremely good politician, she is not.

But is he really?? He never won an actual election before he beat the ever so odd Allan Keyes who came carpet bagging in to Illinois about a month before the election. And since he was served up soft balls all through the election cycle we have no idea how he would handle actual hard questioning or probing by a tough media. In fact on the rare cases he has been called on something he gets kinda flustered or ****ed (Joe the Plumber). And finally a good politician sees the end result of actions and makes decisions on how many of the electorate will be happy, we have already seen numerous cases where the administration has seemingly had no forethought and made huge blunders (jet over NY, cabinet picks). Clinton is a good politician (either one) and I don't think O has that kind of horsepower.

Insert "Or just blame the network." lol

True, but I'm not sure she was good at either. She did have very conservative principles I thought. But, I no longer believe that.

I truely believe she quit for only two reasons. Ethics investigations which may be true, and the money she can make right now by hitting the speech circuit and writing books.

She may have been good at neither. I don't keep up with politics.

The governemnt is in no way run the way I was taught in Civic's Class.

I would agree with that with one change. People who do not pay taxes, can't vote.

I've got to call you out on this, perhaps because of a technicality. :D

There's a large number of good, hard working people that only earn minimum wage. Do the math on that income, look at the tax tables, and those people may by virtue of the tax code and having an extra mouth to feed, end up paying little to no taxes.

Instead of "paying taxes" being a criteria, how about "earn an income?" If you're a lazy ass, live off welfare and don't file a tax return because you haven't earned any money...no voter's registration. Want to vote? Bring a tax return/W2/1099 or your school tuition receipt.

Let me think about it. Seems plausible......

The one I always get hung up on is the retirees. They have one of the strongest lobby orgs (AARP), many live on SSI, but they seem to only give a crap about today because tomorrow they may be gone. So, they seem to vote for whatever gives the best return for them today as if they're kids and grandkids don't matter.

But, many don't work or pay taxes. (My parents before they passed away, after retirement).

How about a compromise. Either pay taxes, or earn an income. Has to be at least one......

I believe in equal opportunity but I don't like the idea of sharing...;)

Call me selfish but I worked hard for what I have, that's what this country was founded on! :)

Exactly...

Who decided that someone who partied, drank, did drugs, didn't save a dime, should be able to live off my work is beyond me.

No it's not, we have many in office right now. They're call socialists and they get elected by those people.

Obama = Socialist. Pelosi = Socialist. Reid = Socialist.

And if they continue to have thier way...USA = United Socialist State.

I thought that show was about 5th graders?

Classic!!!!:rofl::rofl:

Total hypocrite as well... After all those debates and differences in opinion on how things should be run yadda yadda yadda.... Reminds me of the saying keep your friends close and your enemies closer... As soon as he joined Bambi's ticket he lost all credibility with me... :lurk5:

This is a copy and paste. I cannot take credit for authoring, but I wholeheartedly agree. It sums up the complete hypocracy of wacky politicians.

Sarah Palin’s most notable achievement as governor of Alaska was to increase the payout from the state’s energy tax take by $1200 per resident. Isn’t it odd then that she would use her farewell address to warn against the danger of government handouts?
