Bought a Go Pro camera last week and had to give it a first try, today. Grabbed Jim for a quick blast across the lake and compiled a quick 2.5min video.

Nice .. looks like great quality camera. What's was the cost of a Go-Pro or that camera? How you'd get the diff angles ... I guess you stopped RE-pointed and started shooting again? and then edited down to the 2.5min clip for YouTube. Any comression editing or anything involved in getting it 'youTube ready'? And lastly :), how'd it attach to each place you had it? Deck? Interior cockpit? and then off the transom?

Thanks Griswald! Weather has been so chitty here in Jersey forgot what clear blue skies even look like :( Later Chris

$200 from www.sonicraven.com They include the 2Gb memory card and your first set of batteries (2AAA) with a variety of mounts. I used the suction cup mount today and yes, made 5 different videos and edited down w/ QuickTime to what you see.

Thanks Gris :USA: bought one. I'm just plan on mounting it to my wifes a$$ :26::03:

great shots . there is a camera on sharper image that looks like a lip stick with 4 seperate mounts i think it was about 129.oo check it out if you want to add more angles

I am super impressed with the quality of these cameras! I got one last year from Elite Marine for $180.00 bucks. It suction cups to the dash and holds on tight. You have to spring for the rechargeable batteries though as it eats your standard type quickly. It will only go 2 mins. or so with a standard battery, It will go 20 mins. or so with a good rechargeable. Here is a link to my outboard Skater running in the mid one-teens! (Suction cup mounted!) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t2OggtCv4V0

nice !:)

Great pics, but why was their only sound from like the 2 minute mark on. The rest just sounded like rattling?

It must have been the way it was edited. The rattle was the deck hatch. Being the first time with it we had a tether on it thru the deck hatch.

It sounded good when we had it on the swim platform. No wind there.

All the sound comes through the water-proof case. There are two audio levels and the recommend you use the LOW setting if in a windy environment. They say you can take the seal out to get better sound if not going to get wet, but being the first time out, we didn't try. The only place that would've worked was in the cockpit where the wind wasn't so bad. I plan on playing with it quite a bit more to get some better sound.

Still...........very impressed with this little camera and the shots were great.

I have the camera also. Love it. You are not going to pickup much engine noise way up on the deck. 90 mph wind tends to be loud.

In my case the sound of the engines out-weighed the wind noise.... I'm actually supprised that it sounds as decent as it does only a foot away from the exhaust tips. This was my first time using it and I'll play with settings and see what it's like next time.

There's a couple of good gaps with the best about 2:12 and 2:20 in. I was running in the ground swell from Hurricane Bill.

Hey Frank,

I didn't want to mention it on the Warpath thread, but that video is great. Had fun yesterday afternoon watching it and waiting for the wake to disappear... then counting the seconds for it to reappear. Caught some throttle work too. Thanks for doing that. It was a blast watching it. My new favorite Apache vid. :D
