Fire Gel Rocks

I saw some cool rocks that used a gel to create the fire. This was at an upscale garden center and everything was quite pricy. I don't really know anything about fire gel and in searching the internet I saw a lot of choices. I noticed some colored glass pieces that you can buy, I also saw that you use it in your fire pit. I want a fire pit and Ian does not want to burn the grass, so I was wondering how they work in a pit. If you have one what's the pro's and cons. Does the gel burn a long time, do you prefer one brand over the other, it is realistic????? Thanks

Fire starting gel, or something different? The starting gel is just lighter fluid in a gel form used to start fires in pellet and corn burners, barbecue pits ect.. it only burns for about a minute.

No actually closer to you I was in Fenton at the Heavenly Scent Herb Farm and lunch at The French Laundry. My sister in law was in town so it was a fun thing to do. Ian went out with the Nephew. I would have called you but on Sunday I figured you would be up north. Let me know when Connie comes in for the weekend and you stay in town, you guys can come for barbecue or we can meet somewhere for dinner.

heard of that!!!

make your own, gasoline and tide (powder ):reddevil: use ice cube trays and freeze them ,walla!:sifone:

come on, I was a weapons guy for the good old USAF, I can also teach you about a small thermonuclear garage bomb (low yield) you can trust me I still have most of my fingers.:reddevil:

Back on topic; I have the alchohol gel canisters that are used in lieu of candles. They are ok, but do not last very long.

The glass rocks are used in a propane or natural gas type fire pit in lieu of lava rocks and ceramic logs. They look pretty cool as the flame flickers between them.

at first I wasn't sure if the thread title was a question, or a statement.

LOL re reading the title, sounds like I was referring to a rock band called
Fire Gel and that they rock:rofl: I can always count on you to find the humor, thanks:biggrinjester:

You and Ian could be best friends, some of the same interests......... I will have to tell him about your blend, if he winds up missing a finger oh well, all the men on my side are missing at least one, and Ian just commented the other night that after 20 years he does not fit in since he still has all his:biggrinjester:

You have to spell everything out in detail for me, remember I am blond:)
so are you saying the glass that I like can not be used with the gel.
So if I got one of those round fire pits I could not put the glass in it if we are not hooked up to propane or natural gas.
