Need gift ideas

Looking for a present for the man or couple that has every thing.

Some friends are throwing us an engagement party and I want to get them a gift. You name it; they got it or don't want it so I'm having a hard time finding some thing unique.

What's a cool present you have received or given?

what about some real high dollar booze something they wouldn't buy for themselves???

How much you want to spend???

He likes Crown so got him a bottle of XR ($150) and the big bottle of Special Reserve ($85) but thinking that's not really "some thing to remember". I cracked in to both of them to see if I could tell the difference so had to buy one of each again already. The party is not until 5/31 so may have to do that again- more testing need to see if I can differentiate. I forgot the results after testing went in the single digit AM hours the first round as well.

I don't want to spend a fortune since money is not an object for them (but is for me). I'd say some thing around $300- $400 but if it was some thing really cool and was more that is fine as well. It has to be from the heart type thing; not some thing generic store bought.

is he into any sports or hobbies ?

Ya good idea. Especially if you can get them something rare or vintage. A kid I know was into baseball cards big time and we found one that he had been looking for and a bunch of us chipped in and got it for him for his birthday. He said it was something he would never sell or trade and to me thats cool!

He likes golf- has a place in MD and in Myrtle Beach area of SC.

I was thinking a lesson from a named Pro but can't find much info on that and think that may be big bucks

I will preface this with I know nothing about golf. If you go to a hockey game you can buy game used sticks cheap. How bout getting a game used golf club from one of the pros and having it signed? (This could be mega bucks, I have no idea...) But to me, that would be cool!

Dude I want to be your friend- another great idea!!

But..he feels the same way about a celeb autograph as I do- it only means some thing if it is on the bottom of a check.

I did find this book-

"This unique book lets you choose the author and the subject. Blank pages tell the world what they REALLY know. This humorous book will delight any golfer."

Good gag!

I remember when Gino was going to buy his brother's kid a monkey. That would be a unique and memorable gift. You might consider it in this situation.

give them your boat , how hard is that, sure they will exchange it for a cool one ,but the thought is there:leaving:

Do they like to cook? What about a cooking class? They're some really cool ones out now. I think my friend gave her husband one that was all about knives and stuff for Christmas

The cool thing would be a golf with the celebrities outing. But I think most are a couple grand.

Strippers at your engagement party would be memorable for sure......:sifone:

Does he barbecue or grill? How about a membership to a premium meats distributor?
What about a fishing trip for all of you?
Beer/Wine of the month club membership?
When all else fails, hire some strippers for the party.
:D

Book them a nice hotel room for a night. Have dinner reservations made at a nice eats place. Pre order them a really nice wine. Get them good seats to a show, not a movie, a live performance of some type. Then, invite them over for dinner BUT, have a limo waiting to take them to dinner, the show and the hotel.

I guarantee they will remember the night for years to come.

Its irrelevant whether they can "afford" to do that type of thing for themselves. Its the fact that YOU did it for them that will make it memorable.
