You knew it was coming...Obama Seeks Weapon ban!

B.S. !!! An AR-15, AK-47, SKS, etc...etc... doesn't kill any more than a .22 cal rifle if you know how to shoot. So we should not sell muscle cars to the public ??? Only to racers??? Or maybe kitchen knives should only be 3" long if your not a chef !!! WTF:mad::mad::mad: Dave

Uh, I probably wouldn't use that argument. That is precisely why they want to ban them. You don't have to be an expert to cause a lot of damage with an assault weapon.

And before anyone starts I own one that Clinton banned by name.

Also...C4 is completely harmless....it's the detonating charge that makes it explode. And it can be made from household supplies. OK, no more fertilizers, etc...etc.. are available to the public. Do research before posting !!!:rant::rant: Thanks for pissing me off on the start of the day.... :mad:Dave

yea man, you can light C4 on fire. :sifone:

just don't step on it while it' burning. And they will only get banned because of there cost, anyone can get an sks for $175 and an aak variant for $350 they are affordable by all. But if an SKS cost $20,000 only people with decent incomes could afford one, then it could never be banned, but there would be mandatory registration and 20% gun value tax due every year.

I agree. There is no doubt that they have the potential to do a lot more damage then a .22. Then again so does a shot gun. I think that the first argument has to be that law abiding, licensed, people use them correctly (that is the hope anyhow). I do wish that every state would implament a licensing law to make it at leaste a little harder to get them into the "wrong" hands. They (assault riffles) have been banned in Mass. for a while (along with many other guns) even after the federal law expired. There are "mass complient" versions that have the stock "pinned" and you can not have flash supresion........ Bunch of odd duck laws. So you can still have them I guess just have to "modify" them. What sucks for me is that even with what I have it is getting more and more expensive to shoot. I used to go to the range and blow through 1000 or more rounds a day. Now I keep it a lot less. I hope he only gets 4 years to ruin this country!!!!

I checked- it doesn't specify which ones...

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

I'm not trying to take any of yours away from you, why do you want to take mine from me?
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances

And where's the ACLU at on this? Wouldn't they be more aptly named the AOTCLWWYTHU?

i thought that would ruffle feathers but in reality i have a Friend that had assault rifles i think a few were Russian while on vacation house was broken into all guns and safe stolen because of the nature of the guns he was under the microscope(FBI and ATF) and sweating for a while.... they were recovered in another state after a kid took one to school to shoot it up but chickened out i guess if that had happened my buddy would never have recovered from the guilt even though it was not his fault he went from brown hair to gray in 6 months....owning one of these carries a lot of responsibility ....now his kid thats outa control chases my dog with a hachet while he tell me he just likes to destroy and kill things don,t worry the dog is faster than he is.....wtf i am glad they did not return his guns

With all due respec it sounds like your friend had not business owning a gun and needs to learn to parent better.

My safe is bolted in with blind bolts on top of the fact that it is heavy as chit and has alarms hooked up to it. Not saying that it would be impossible to do but not likely that it gets taken.

Please dont let one bad personal experience form your overall opinion. It sucks that your friend had to go through that but I bet with a little thought and a good safe the whole scenario could have been prevented, and the situation that you described could have happened with any type of firearm not just something coined an "assault weapon". It blows my mind the amount of gun owners who dont buy a safe until they get some firearms stolen.

Most cops are pretty happy about it, and would like the rules to be tightened beyond their former fluff status. They are heroes.

audiofn i agree he was not qualified or capable of owning these guns but apparently they are very easy to obtain i know getting Russian caliber bullets was costly he was obsessed with making them fire faster. having a range own a bunch of these would be OK pay to rent and blast away but sticking one in the closet is just trouble waiting to happen....i am in the process of getting rid of my fathers pistol collection(he died in dec) as i have no interest they are just a liability rifles are going too will keep a few heirlooms and my favorite 410. even our small upstate town has changed the bro's and pr and mexican have filled in where good folks left after the industry's left our local high school was locked down after a gang fight look at the news not one but 2 10 year olds shot parents or pregnant girl friend what is going on with kids today?

Is this not justification enough for the personal ownership of assault weapons?? the comming revolution will not go well if we are armed with spitballs and straws.
