Chicks, Chips & Boats

You have a handy "hubby." He can:
A) find a similar knob that is a little loose and put a wedge and some super glue in it.
B) fix the broken knob.
C) find a similar crock pot on ebay and buy the whole thing for 5 bucks, stockpiling extra parts in case of additional reasons to hamilton beach.
D) Make a new, better knob. Perhaps billet?
E) Bust out the micro-vice grips.

I like D!

Fixing the broken knob is out of the question ( way too broken plus I think I threw it away).

I've been using vice grips and it works well, it's just irritating. Plus when you take it somewhere for a pot luck or something it looks funny to bring vice grips or ask if they have any you can borrow.

E isn't a bad option though. I'll have to put Tony on eBay watch. He doesn't work all day... :D

You crack me up! I have this vision in my mind.....Tony on his porch.....Gilligan running around everywhere.......and Jeff Foxworthy saying "You know you're a Redneck when then knob on your crockpot is broken and people are asking to use the vice grips that are being used to turn the crockpot off and on!" :03::rofl::rofl:

Because you don't work for half the year and can still go to KW?

I need to stay away from people today. I could just b**ch slap somebody right now just because I can!

Wow.......not even out of Florida for 48 hours and I turned back into a bi**h!

Through a B.F. That would be a biotch fit. Came from White Chicks. I love, love, love that movie. Makes me laugh, puts me in a good mood. Plus, you have jokes to share for a week.
Go shoot something!!!!!! That'll work.

don't get me started on Jenn Air, I have a dual fuel slide in range with a built in down draft, cost about $2,000 9 years ago, hated the burners from day one they are impossible to clean, I have to take the whole thing apart and spray the heck out of it with heavy duty oven cleaner, within a few years a couple of the knobs started to melt, then the front panel started to warp. About 10 months ago the front panel stopped lighting up, 3 months ago the broiler stopped working. It will probably cost about $400. The gal the gal from the appliance repair place said I would be better off getting a new range. I have been debating this for about 2 months the problem is the fit and the fact that we have a gas line, and electric line to it and some type fan that is in the floor under the unit for the down draft, hard to find another range that will match up. I hate to buy another Jenn Aire, the type I have is now about $3,000 and the other companies don't seem to have the downdraft feature and I don't want a hood, so I stew and wonder what to do. I like to broil stuff so I dragged out this broiler convection oven that I got as a Christmas gift a few years ago and that thing is a piece of chit, hardly seems to brown anything,, OK group BITxch Slap:ack2:

If I replace or ever redo the kitchen, I will remove the Jenn-Air. Totally not worth the money in my opinion. We have two burners on the right and then the grill on the left, which we seldom use. I looked into buying the griddle to replace the grill. Ha! They can kiss my a$$ and then shove it up theirs!

I love these b*t*h sessions...makes me feel warm and fuzzy all over!:biggrinjester:

Another idea is to use the vice grips once, and then connect the power cord to a Variac. That way... you can raise and lower the AMPERAGE!!

Or, maybe a nice wooden knob.

Ok... last idea... mix some JB weld... pour it in a plastic cap. Hold the cap in place until it dries. Paint it a pretty color. Viola. Done.

Ok for you bammers, in order to be a proper bamm we all have to be on the same page, you all need to go into your settings or user panel or what ever they call it on this site and change your post per page option to the maximum, I think it is 40 this way we can all truely be on the same page, buy the way I am on page 104

Then we'd be bamming less.

We want to "BAMM" more Donna, not less. You change your settings and bamm with us! :26:

Barb if you ever need a new grill let me know our's is sitting brand new in the basement, when we bought it new we bought the extra set of burners, I can't remember how much they were, but it was not cheap. I can't complain to Ian because he did not want the Jenn aire in the first place, he thought it was to pricy then. Do you have a gas oven, or do you have the duel fuel. It's funny in looking on line for new ranges a lot of them had reviews, it seems like a lot of people don't like what they have I think because they are made like crap now.

We have the duel fuel. PM a price for the griddle. I would use that more often than the grill (which you have to constantly clean).
