Sat. morning.
Need to pull the rims from the boat trailer to take them to have tires replaced before this move to Phoenix takes place.
Run to Lowe's for a few cinder blocks to block it up while the wheels are off.
Come home, back the truck into the back yard, and drag the floor jack from the garage to the backyard.
Pull out the electric impact wrench and a cord and drag those into the backyard.
Block up one side of the trailer, and pull both wheels, no problem.
Throw them in the bed of the truck.
Go over to the other side, block it up, and pull one wheel. Toss it in the truck bed.
Needed another beer, so trying to be efficient, as I'm heading to the garage, I drag the floor jack back to the garage.
Head back to the last wheel on the trailer.
Couldn't bust a single lug loose with the impact on the last rim.
Went back to the garage for some WD-40, (and another beer), and impact still won't do the job.
after about 45 mins, I went back to the garage for a breaker bar.
Spent another 15 mins trying to wedge something against the tire to break the lugs loose - didn't happen.
Back to the garage and drag the floor jack back out ( so much for my efficiency)
Drop the trailer on the ground and break the last tire loose.
Jack it back up and put it on the block.
Sunday morning.
Gonna take the trailer tires to the do-it-yourself carwash and blast all the built up grease on the inside of the rims.
Brilliant idea.:ack2:
This didn't work out so well.
Once I finally started breaking years of grease loose, it was flying everywhere.
One pair of Levi's, and a pair of Sperry topsiders ruined.
Got back in the truck, and had to be really careful not allow any of the grease get on the upholstery.
Strip naked in the garage, throw the shoes and the jeans away, and dress in dirty clothes in the laundry room. Yeah, I recycled a pair of jeans.
Now onto project #2.
Need to paint the bedroom to freshen it up to sell.
Had 3/4 gallon of S/W classic 99 ceiling paint.
Well, that 3/4 gallon went about 1/4 of the way.
I had enough paint to do all the trim work.
OH, lets back up a minute.
I do this sort of thing all the time, so it's not much of a surprise.
Got into the painting project, wearing the recycled jeans, (decent jeans - can still wear to work), and in less than 10 mins I wipe a drip of paint on them, and the after that, I'm just basically a walking drop cloth.
Also had the opportuntiy to have an arguement over the phone with my X-wife when I told her I was moving to Phoenix, and an arguement with my folks about my X-wife...
Had a friend come over last night to have her husband do some carpet repair.
Somewhat painless, and when I asked "How much" when he was done, he quoted me a price so low that I felt guilty and gave him over triple that.
Today.
Wasn't feeling well (Cough, Cough) and took the day off.
Very unlike me. I've only missed 2 days in 6 years.
I wanted to finish painting the bedroom.
The wife took my truck to work. I ran out and picked up more paint and finished the bedroom.
Wanted to get my trailer rims dropped off at the tire place today, but considering she took my truck to work, that didn't make it conducive to me going there and swapping vehicles - so now I'm a day behind on that project too.
I must be posting this because it makes me feel better to just ***** in the wind.
