who makes the best air cleaner?????

Do you mean flame arrestor?

They're all about the same- providing they're large enough for the engine. Sometimes you have hatch clearance issues which force you go larger in diameter instead of in height.

Some of the Merc and Volvo applications use a K&N filter. If that's what you have, stick with that.

yes i did . and i have a big k/n on the motor now . i was on oso site and i read a post that one guy lost hp with k/n and they were going to test all kinds. . so i was just wondoring if this is true or bs ????:cheers2:

I always heard the K/N marine ones flowed well. I think the most important thing is a properly sized one and a clean one. Ive seen guys post HP differences on the dyno, but i find it hard to believe one would see MPH gains unless the previous flame arrestor was too small in the first place.

With that being said, is there a chart or general rule of thumb as to size?

The best flow u get from a GAFFRIG or simular ss screen flame arrestor. The K&N are good for about 20-40 min,,then belt wear and so on clogs them up flow wise !!!

 :cheers2:
