Well, I did it. I'm now a desert rat.

Been out here in the ZONE-AH for a year and a half, and we finally committed and bought a house.
We love it out here, and found a place that only would suit certain people - and we happen to be those people.
On the base of Superstition Mountain to the East, and at an elevation of 1000 ft over the valley to the West. Breathtaking views both ways.
1.25 acre, 2500 sf, and 3-1/2 car garage.
At the end of a dirt road - not a street light within 5 miles, maybe more.
Only 10-15 mins away from the lake.
I actually have to drop the truck into 4-wheel to get out of the driveway.
We should close in a few weeks, so if anyone wants to come out and help me move, the door is open.
This could very well be my last stop - you would have to see it to understand.
Looking forward to getting into the new Double-wide:D:26:

Jim, does that mean you're going to come out for the house warming/moving party?

Did I mention you have to cross a boat dock to get to the front porch??

Place looks great, all I saw was the 3 and a half truck/boat/car man cave underneath, and of course the party deck.....Tim, just make sure you designate which chair you sit in at night for your naked smoker routine.:sifone:

Google says 16 hours from Lake Travis to Superstition Mountain...
:)
Looks like an awesome place!
Congrats..

Thanks! We're pretty excited.

I'll have a few chairs on the deck, but the smoking chair will be kind of like the shell game when anyone visits.

Congrats Tim! thats a great looking place and the ramp up is really cool...that back drop is awesome too

Those pictures don't do it any justice. It's a view you have to experience is the way one person that we had out there stated. Sean will be able to explain in a few weeks.

Right on Tim! Can't wait to carry your couch up the hill!

The nice thing is, the couch and all the larger items will go across the dock from the upper level. Very little will need to go up or down the stairway.
Look forward to having you out and drinking a few beers while overlooking all the city lights of PHX to the West.
If I haven't already said it - Our "Best" to you and your family for the holiday, and "MERRY CHRISTMAS"!

You see, this is how it all starts....you bring your own chair, I'll want to bring my chair, then someone wants to bring their boat, and next thing you know we have a new SOS clubhouse and the neighbors start moving out...lol

SOS SouthWest.

Wait until your first big snow......:D

Already met the neighbors. They mentioned that every few years that the mountain actually gets "snowcapped". Hard to believe, because horizontally, the high areas of the mountain are only about half to 3/4 mile away from the house - the mountain rises that steep... But, it does have hiking trails that will take you to the top to look over the cliff.

They won't drink the stuff that we do, they're Beer snobs !:D

It's about a 15 min. drive to the closest carryout/grocery - they'll drink whatever we have. As I always was taught "Any port in a storm"
There is actually a bar/restaurant that is just down the street that has been there for 50 yrs with a mining camp type theme going on.
