Was at Harvard and Yale

My wife went to Cornell ILR School. What does he want to focus on? I am sure she would be happy to talk to him about it. Depends on what he wants to get a degree in as to what school is best. For example Cornell is the best vet school, Harvard and Yale for Law....... If he goes to Cambridge just be aware they may try and make him a democrat!!! LOL Wish I knew you were in the area we could have hooked up and I could have shown you around.

That would be great if he could talk to her.He wants to major in business with a minor in finance.Agree with the Democrat thing but he is red all the way it will be interesting

I was hoping my rich friend with an Outerlimits and a lot of restaurants would help out:26: Actually there financial aid packages are quite impressive and its not like I did not plan for this. When he was in preschool and used to read stories to the other kids kinda thought we would end up here

Is MIT out of the question? My 11 y/o neice just won some sort of math contest for Pinellas Cty, Fla. My little brother better start saving now. :sifone:

Adams list of college's he is applying to

Harvard
Yale
Princeton
Wharton (University of Penn.)
Cornell
NYU
Columbia

If any members on this board have attended any of these schools and could post input it would be appreciated

So he wants to study business? What will his major be?

Good lord! You might want to throw a safety school in there just in case! That is unless these schools are fighting over him.

A lot of my clients are in Princeton, NJ. I drive by it all the time and it looks like one of the nicest schools I've seen. know a few guys who played lacrosse there too and they had good things to say about their experieince.

Don't blame ya on Yale...

I see a lot of grauduates from those schools in my line of work, but I think in terms of the best school for business, Wharton takes the cake (very well respected by financial employers). I would suggest finding out what else your son wants to get out of the college experience? Would he rather be in city or rural setting? I had two friends that went to UPenn, one ended up transferring out and the other couldn't wait to get out of there because it just wasn't a good fit for them. Are sports big on his list? Academia is really only one portion of the experience, there's a lot that goes into picking the right match all around though.

Am I to understand you went to Wharton?

Yea right! Sorry- I confused more than one (see how smart I am...) on that one. I went to a few years at a community college, then to Uni of MD before dropping out to go to a tech school. I knew I wanted to go in to communications; schools don't have the budget to keep up with technology so it was either the military or a communications company putting me through their own or vendor schools. The latter route I didn't have to get up as early.

I was saying I think Wharton is the best choice on the list. Seen what them Wall Street guys are making?

I know 2 that went thru this program: http://www.upenn.edu/fisher/

Edit: What he said:

He really liked Wharton he would be fine in a city I really think its easier to go to a college in a city rather than a rural area with no mass transit.Sports are not high up on the list but did like Harvards ability to study at there sub schools in Europe for a short time.
