vid- Ilmor 725/Indy 28 Elim. Speedster

Noth'in that 20 cylinders won't do!

Sweet, Very Nice! Amazing what almost 1500HP will do for a good 28 foot cat!

Still gonna have to be real careful what water one pushes that hull to at those speeds! One old wake at the wrong time and that puppy might go into a low earth orbit!

Congratulations on some nice power.

Best Regards,
Ray @ Raylar

Very efficient sweet package. Think of where we were 15 years ago. Who would believe a boat capable of 150mph in a stock turn key package. Now we need to make bigger lakes! Congratulations to Eliminator and Ilmor.

Ilmor Dude.. great vid... how is the take off acceleration vs the blowered Merc 700. Same boat.... Im pleased now that Ilmor has packaged a drive with their power.. and from what Ive read fits somewhere in the power handling capacities vs the nxt and #6..Thanks Jeff

Some of the most well advanced engines in the industry.

If you have not ever had an opportunity to visit ILMOR personally, I created a virtual tour from my visit last season...

Let's just say, you could seriously eat off the floor of this place and the Dyno Rooms are any engine builder's dream.

See Tour of ILMOR Engineering here:

See what is behind these Card Access Only doors..... :cheers2:

Jazz, either way I bet the acceleration is BIG FUN w/ that power in that size kitty cat!!!:driving:

I don't have any specs to post vs. Merc powered 28. I know the got 154 with a juiced.700 which was more of an 820 if I remember correctly. This boat has flirted with 152 with more left I'm told

I agree.. just trying to get a little info on bottom end accelerations of the 725 vs the 4 pounds of "might as well not have it boost on the 700's"

Ilmor Dude... is the tranny dry sump and if so is it like a Bam or Huber in the engine compartment or like the NXT..in a box..
I just went through Sharkeys pics again and see its like the NXT..

Sharkey thanks for the pics...man is that place clean...and state of the art...10 years from now I see a shift of the tides....

Yes its dry sump.........what you mean by in a box? I looked for an NXT pic but couldnt find one. Ive never seen one up close. I'd say its just like a huber but 30 lbs lighter!

Does the tranny sit inside the box between the drive itself and the transom wall..like the NXT.. Thanks Jeff

On a plug in application, the rear mount is actually cast in the tranny housing. It uses a stainless pin with a cotter that hangs from the transom casting. Very accessable from the engine room for service. Ill grab some pics to show ya tomm.

Not the clearest, but you get the idea...
