Underwater LEDs

Anybody put them on a BT and if so what size and brand? I've decided to remove my inner cooler pickups and use the existing holes to run the wires thru. Prices seem to range all over the place but I'm looking at Ocean led A3 and A6 or Seablaze X series.

Thoughts or feedback? :bump:

I think you should have Hellbent custom make you some that will blow the eyeballs out of the fish on the bottom......

He's fooled around with building a couple. Don't know if he'd do a special order or not. His were BRIGHT!!!!!

Hey guys. Thanks for the mention Paul, but my stuff isn't ready to sell yet. I will be putting a lot of time into it this Winter though. I have some new boards that are considerably brighter than what I had before but I need to re-design the other components.

So here's my advice to anyone looking to buy. Both of the companies mentioned make some nice quality pieces. Pay attention to the numbers. It's easy to be misled when comparing products. Companies intentionally play games with the numbers to make their product seem brighter than the competition. Pay attention to the voltages, etc. What you care about is lumen output. Be sure that the lumen output you're looking at is for the color you want. White is always going to be the highest output so often times they'll only advertise the white numbers. Blue or green are the only other colors that work well in water but the lumen output is going to be much lower than white. Anything less than a few hundred lumens is pretty useless in most water conditions. The A3 and A6 are the old design. I'm not sure if you can still get them. The new ones, the A4 and the A8 are much brighter. If you're only getting one, you'll need to decide if you care more about how wide the beam pattern is or how far behind the boat it goes. The A8 is going to be a wider pattern than the Seablaze...approximately double...but it's only going to travel about half the distance due to it's lower lumen output.

Understand. Thank you for your explanations and imparting knowledge. I sent you a pm as follow up

Thanks,
Chris
