trs to bravo, or alpha to bravo

@#$@%% my exhaust cracked and tore up my motor, am now going to take power out of my sea ray hull, rebuild motor and sell the hull, will be looking for another hull and wonder what is involved to install my bravo set up in these other applications.

from alpha to bravo, not mutch at all, a little clearancing I believe is about it. TRS to bravo Im not so sure of, but I believe its a way different cutout, the X's are different and the adding or elimanting the trs trannies and differnt motor locations can really change the cg

Not sure about trs issues but if memory serves, all that is needed 2 convert an alpha 2 a bravo is 2 new holes!! Tech guys!!???

looked at an old trs excalibur that could be bought cheap if he keeps his power, and have seen a few sbc alpha set up that could be bought cheap, are there any x dimension issues to worry about with either set up?

I wondered, that thing looked awfully big, but if there is no major cutout issues, that might be an advantage... "raising the x dim with a shorter drive"

Alpha to Bravo is a no-brainer, like wrink says it's just two extra holes to drill at the top. X will be the same, engine mounts will be the same. TRS is a much bigger deal and is an investment in really old stuff. If you stick with a current industry standard transom assembly you're open to options. All Bravo, alpha, volvo penta sx, and most aftermarket will bolt right in place. Good luck either way.. :)

yeah i have an entire bravo power package, I need to know if repowering a trs boat involves redoing he transom to cut a new hole

Oh and I almost forgot, thank you guys for the help, looks like a small block with an alpha converted to my power is the way to go

I answered at least half of the question as well as addressing unconsidered variables, thus my post was educational, I am sorry Mr. Stecz sir, i I have veered from my normal posting material, corrupting threads and adding color commentary. it wont happen again as my actual boating knowledge is limited to an old, underpowered resin bucket and bumming rides on opb's.

At least you don't have to ask Otis to Borrow a boat.:)
