One thing (from a fund-raisers perspective.)
The banks will usually allow people to make donations directly to them. This will take some work off of your plate and remove any concern that any people (who may not know you) have about sending it to a private company.
It will probably be picked up in the regional media, and this will give strangers who may feel compelled to donate an extra sense of comfort.

Just a thought that may help get the total higher.

I told the girls at the office today, God sure has a way of putting things into perspective for you. I cant think about Pat without crying ... and I was just his friend. I cant imagine what his wife and kids are going thru. My heart goes out to them ...
