Throttle up Props vs. Hering vs. Merc cnc

Need a set of new props for the Skater, starting to hear good things on throttle up's new cnc props, does anyone have experience with all three?, How do they compare. julie has always been very helpful and a class act to me. looking at 5 blade #6 props. any info appreciated.

On the christening thread for 6800.00 a set Julie listed the race teams and customers ..:biggrinjester:

that seems like a great deal, I would just like to hear some feedback from someone using them.Running hot , did you ever get your new props? what are you going with

Don't look a gift horse in the mouth.
Just mail the check.:sifone: 16 3/4 40" 18 degree 5 blade

40's, Anthony do you think the motors can spin that much pitch, I was thinking 38's . can we get 6400 rpm's out of a 40. do the math on that, what speed do you get?

I also need some new props since I changed my gearing from 1.24 to 1.35 and the question that I have for Julie is what the blade degree is on the mercury props. I understand the pitch and diameter but need some information as to what degree is best or what I have been running. I have never ordered props new and the question of blade thickness and blade degree is new to me.That price is awsome for 5 blade #6 props. Thanks for any help. Doug

does bblades cnc their own props now also?

No they don't ( as of this time). Mercury props are supposed to be very nice from what I hear. Some guys have stopped using the Herings and have replaced them with the Mercurys. A big issue was order time and waiting for new props to be manufactured. Hering's on the other hand, are proven and the holy grail of props (in my opinion.) They have also shortened their order time.Throttle Up looks to be the new guy on the block making a name for themselves and gaining momentum.

I have 35s,36s,37s and they were too small ,the spacer worked awesome and we picked up 12 mph its best to try a few sets and see what you can spin .... my plan is to have Jules build a set of 40s and worse senario she'll have to tweak them in :seeya: did you buy the set from Slug ?????

ROCK ON !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:26:

no, they were to small also, I think I'm going the same route you are. Julie's props in a 16.5 or 16.75x 38's or 40's I'm thinking when the motors are finished we will need the 40's . do you have boxes on yours, adding a spacer got you 12mph, awesome . what hp are you at now? are you stillrunning 14-71 blowers?

Scot Conrad has taken over the daily operations of Hering and should be up to speed by now. He's concentrating on increasing production. Jim is still there though.

Yes boxes , and they'll be back from being drysumped around thanksgiving... sticking with the 1471s unless Dustin can show us the addtl 200 hp on some dyno sheets we dyno'd with and without the intercoolers and picked up hp and better egts without .... I dont think anyone can pick a # and have it dead on for your boat , Peter has been right on with everything so far and said he'd get us props to test when back together but we're hoping Julies / throttle up will be the ticket !!!!!!!!!!!:)

what size spacers did you use? who drysumped your drives? did you say you eliminated the coolers? are you not going to run the intercoolers. how much mph do you think the dry sump drives will add? Johnny and I are adding front tunnel extension, rear drive bustle cover, eliminated canopy's for a windshield, glasses all the air intakes solid, ans eliminated rub rail and faired smooth, looks cool.
