The engines Vinnie was running were not 860 Merc's. They were Merc Racing 800 Competitions. They were the 860 base, then detuned by Mercury to the 810HP that the average Super Cat engine from the other builders came with. Mercury Racing called them 800 Competitions. They can show you the Dyno sheets comparing the 800 Comps to the 860 pleasure if you want.
