:hurray: And then caught eight more! She turned five two weeks ago, and this was yesterday. For the avid fishermen out there, that is a Dora the Explorer rod and reel, using about a 3lb monofilament. :hurray:
Cecilia, and they were all around that size - Hybrid Bream (stocked pond). It wouldn't have mattered if she was catching glodfish in the bathtub, she was having a BLAST.
One of my buddies daughters is a natural hunter. She is scarry really. She came down to the range and shot trap and hit 19 out of 25 clays on her first try. Then she showed up at sporting clays and got a 38 first time out then a 42 second time. There are guys that have been shooting for YEARS that do not get that score including her daddy. After she got the 42 she said this is not so hard and walked back to the car.
I can not waite to be doing that stuff with my son.
Thats awesome, I took my daughter at about the same age, she didnt catch anything but had a blast feeding worms to the skilpot turtles that came up. she even wrote a story about it in school. those are the best memories of my life.
My 4 year old has the Shrek rod-n-reel (looks just like Dora's but it's green) and I've taught her how to "play" her 3 year old brother in the back yard... I set the drag really light and make her work him up to the porch steps. She wants to go fishing for real, but I haven't taken her yet. I like the idea about cutting the barbs off.
