Purchase a suppressor via a trust?

I have a friend that told me he is getting a suppressor for his HK 45 Tactical, and is putting the suppressor in a trust. He says the clerk at the gun store says thats how everyone buys them like that to get around a couple of the requirements for individuals. Too busy this week to look it up, but it sounds like trouble. Anyone here know?

Yes. I started to look in to it last winter, and it sure seems to be the only option for me. The requirements for me to buy one included getting it approved by the local county sheriff and he has made it perfectly clear, he will not sign off on it for anyone for any reason.
It's something I looked in to during the winter when there isn't anything better to be doing. It seems most are setting up the trust using quicken legal software. I was hoping to find a local lawyer who specialized in it who didn't charge an obscene cost for it, but then spring came and I got busy. I'll get back to it in the next few months.

All the trust does is relieve you of the requirement of obtaining a signature from a local law enforcement agency. If your local authority is gun owner friendly it may be easier to get a signature. If not, the trust is quick and easy
