Outdoor Deck Lighting

I'm in the process of building a 16x30 deck and was looking for some ideas on lighting. I pre-ran the wire to all the posts already and left loops for the 2 sets of stairs i will be putting in.

what have some of you guys used ? I was thinking of low voltage lighting. maybe some post caps with lighting built in, and some small flush mount leds on the face of posts without the lit post caps. then the face of each step.

anyone have any pics of what you used ??

the posts have a hole through the centers of them to enable me to run the wire.

Low voltage is an absolute necessity. Unless you want to do the whole thing in rigid conduit.

I see you live in PA, we are in MI and if PA is anything like MI there are a lot of bugs at night. Ian was going to put lights on the tops of all our posts, until I reminded him that he will not let me turn the lights on that are on the outside of the house by the deck, because of the amount of bugs it attracts. It stays light here pretty late, but once it gets dark we head for the house. Occasional if it is cool and there is a breeze we sit out side and light some candles. For a little light around the exterior of the house I bought some attractive solar lights and stuck them in the gardens. Good luck
