Use the other Lake Charles thread call "Lake Charles - On the Water" to get into discussions and general talk. Keeping this list brief will make this list quicker/easier to view what's coming up.

7/11/09 - Orange Beach, AL to Pensacola, FL boat run to watch the Navy Blue Angels from the
water(Baton Rouge Boat Club)

8/8/09 - Lake Charles poker run by the Calcasieu Boat Club.

8/22/09 - Lake Charles - T.C.'s river party on the Calcasieu River / West Fork

9/12/09 - Lake Bash on Lake Maurepas in Baton Rouge. The Lake Bash is always the weekend
after Memorial Day, and the weekend after labor day. If you go to one out of town
event this should be it. A band plays on a barge. The bash takes place on the
sandbar at the south end of the lake near the entrance to the Blind River.

8/1/09 - Baton Rouge - Garfish Rodeo - At the Blind River Bar(can only get to by water).

Has couple hundred ft of wharf to tie to.
Corner of Blind River & the Diversion Canal. Huge crowd, lots of boats and fun.
Crowded by 11am-by that time have to anchor out or tie up to somebody.
Best fresh fried gar you'll ever eat-delicious. Never tried any until there.
Great burgers, food and drinks available(try the "Worm Bucket").

going boating at toledo bend 6-20-9 & 6-21-9

there is a really nice sand bar on the texas side at toledo bend. were are going for the weekend.

i am really kinda scared of toledo because of all the stumps.

9/12/09 - Lake Bash on Lake Maurepas in Baton Rouge. The Lake Bash is always the weekend after Memorial Day, and the weekend after labor day. If you go to one out of town event this should be it. A band plays on a barge. The bash takes place on the sandbar at the south end of the lake near the entrance to the Blind River.

What about the Orange Texas Boat club poker run? I hear thats supposed to be a pretty fun run and I think its around October. We were going to go last year but Hurricane Ike hit before the poker run

Never done there poker run but ran over and hung out at the club house a couple of years ago. Great group of guys, no doubt they put on a great run.
