A Michigan woodpecker on vacation in Florida ran into a local Florida
woodpecker, and soon an argument erupted over which state had the
toughest trees. The Florida woodpecker claimed Florida had a tree that
no woodpecker could peck.
The Michigan woodpecker accepted his challenge and promptly pecked a
hole in the tree with no problem. The Florida woodpecker was amazed.
The Michigan woodpecker then challenged the Florida woodpecker to peck a
tree in Michigan that was absolutely 'impeckable' (a term frequently
used by woodpeckers ). The Florida woodpecker expressed confidence that
he could do it and accepted the challenge.
The two of them flew to Michigan where the Florida woodpecker
successfully pecked a hole in the so-called 'impeckable' tree, almost
without effort.
Both woodpeckers were now terribly confused. How is it that the Michigan
woodpecker was able to peck a hole in the Florida tree, and the Florida
woodpecker was able to peck a hole in the Michigan tree; yet neither was
able to peck the tree in their own state?
After much woodpecker pondering, they both came to the same conclusion:
Tiger Woods was right !! The further from home you are, the harder
your pecker gets.
