As of 12:01 am today, I am officially out of the military. I have mixed emotions, but I think it the right thing to do. I saw and did alot and am happy to have served 8 years, but now I am excited to see what the future holds for me.

I had to tell someone, but everyone is asleep or on a Valentine's date so I posted it here and the Donzi forum (of course).

Might be a rough time right now finding a good job right now. What did you specialize in the service?

Good luck with whatever you do and thanks for serving. We are visiting are son right now @ fort Bragg. Hes been in 10 years and leaves in may for Afganastan. Military treats him pretty good now that hes WO and piliot. I have to say were a little worried though about this tour.

if you have been in for 8 years, go directly to school, do not pass go, do not collect poor paying job. you have benefits comming to you which will expire faster than you realize at lifes pace. In a bad job market and poor economy, education is your best investments. with the military programs, federal grants and loans as well as schoolarships for military service it will cost you little if anything and you may make it pay the bills too. the thought of 2~4 years of rigorous study after 8 years of military probably sucks as you want immediate freedom, but upon graduation and getting a decent paying job, you will have that freedom and the income to enjoy it.

My specialty in the Air Force was Security Forces Sniper. I am pursuing a different career field.

A friend and I are starting a new carbon fiber/powder coating business.
