( and for the record, yes I smoke(tobacco - the legal stuff)
But today, I'm leaving work, and see a guy in a Honda Hybrid, with the window down, smoking a cigarette. And then, behind him at a stoplight, he flicks the butt out on the ground.
I just saw a bit of irony in this.

So does that also make it bad that I occasionally throw a butt on the ground, but I drive a truck with a 8.1 lt. I know I'm wrong to do it, but have to admit that I am sometimes guilty. But, with the Big Block, I'm polluting just as much anyway, right?:leaving:

Tim, you hit on my number one hangup with hippies! For all their "earth first" bullsh*t, they have no problem with throwing butts on the ground. Or for that matter the celophane off the lid of a new pack of smokes.

I'm not a big fan of littering. Its irresponsible and childish, but then I remember pitching a large McDonalds bag full of trash out the window of my 82 Trans Am like I was Randall Cunningham running the option and my girlfriend jumped straight up my ass about it...

An deuce and a half is square and ugly because it has to be. A Prius is square and ugly because its a fashion statement...

I despise littering. Nevertheless, in defense of the liberal azzhat in the hybrid, how many cars come with ashtrays these days. I know he could carry one from the house, but what was wrong with having one built in? We all just keep change in them anyway if we don't smoke. And it gave people a place to put trash.

Actually the guy who is the most GREEN is the one restoring an Old (Muscle) car and make it run on E85.
That´s why I got an Aluminum Donovan Smallblock with a Crower Alky F.I. waiting for my old 61 Vette...
And I prefer Cigars.. they are a natures product.

We need Nick to run the numbers on how long it takes to make up the investment in a Prius in energy savings as compared to say... a $16k Malibu that gets 33 hwy.

I have a feeling that it is a very, very long time.

I will admit that I have thrown trash BACK into people's cars before. And more...Once a chick in a minivan dropped a carton of milk out her window in a drive through lane. (Some years ago, mind you...) When she pulled up to the window... I got out of my truck, picked it up and said "ma'am, I think that you are forgetting your milk" as I poured it on her windshield.

I probably wouldn't do that these days.

Sounds sweet Mika.......Although I'm not a fan of E85. It has caused more pollution than if we had just burned the fuel and saved the water it took to make it. Not to mention driving up the coast of food. One British study put it at a doubling of many food products.

Your average Prius driver doesnt give a rats azz about the environment deep down. Moreso the fact that they can go twice as far on $10 worth of gas and spend the other $10 that they saved on a more expensive cable TV package. These are generally the same idots who took on a larger car payment in order to buy the Prius without first doing the math on how long its actually goint to take to pay for itself in fuel savings.

I quit smoking about three months ago after 38 years of smoking. I'm glad I did. I'd have to take out a second mortgage to by a carton now days. I never threw out the butts.

Have you noticed how many Texas state and local government vehicles are Toyota Prius? Now that really chaps my azz.

Litter bugs, aggressive drivers, etc. I deal with them all day long and they irritate the $hit out of me. My problem is, if it's on my mind it's com'n out of my mouth. These people get appalled when you have the audacity to call them on the carpet for their BS. Some day I'll probably get my ass kicked for it.

I second that. It was estimated as of 2007 that 1.7 billion pounds of cigarette butts were thrown on the ground each year. THATS DIRTY!
