Gas Prices at Yearly High

yea it just pizzes me off....times are tough enough right now....i guess we will eat bean and franks next week....but i will be on the water...

Could be worse. We are inching up near the dollar a litre level again. Thats roughly 4 bucks canadian per US gallon or 3.30 US per gallon for regular 87.

What I find odd is that Diesel has not gone up much at all. For the last few years it has been more then super. Now I am seeing it less then regular again.

Oil will be below 60 per barrel again next week when the inventory report comes out.It actually should have gone to the high 60s this week due to the dollar dropping.I highly doubt you will see oil much higher than it is now this season.Look at the chart for DXO which trades oil futures usually three months in advance. That is not p.p.b it is the stock price you would have seen the run up by now.

I have a customer that buys and sells #2 diesel and jet fuel direct, he has told me pretty much to the cent and time what was going to happen with fuel cost and he has been correct. The latest he told me was when 66% of the Russian production was purchased to control the prices, he said in bad news that fuel back to 3.50 by summer end, than up from there to 4-$5.00 I guess I,ll wait and see. I hope he's wrong! It will crush us even more, But if our goverment controls the auto makers 50 mpg riding on rollerskates in a shoe box paying taxes on every mile you drive, so there will be plenty of fuel to go around, plus we won't have any jobs to go to or businesses to operate!

if it goes up over 4 a gallon, it will crush the economy. we will see things get much worse. boy looks like mad max is fulfilling the profecy. all over fuel.

Dont know about you guys down there but up here the natural gas industry consumer prices are controlled by the gov't as it's considered essential for home heating, industry etc......

if they want to raise the price to the consumer the industry has to make an application to an Energy Board and "ask" to do so, they will also (believe it or not) need a reason!!! and "because a weekend is coming up" is NOT good enough.....the board will make a ruling and tell them what the allowable price hike will be, customers will be notified by mail of when and how much the price hike will be......this process takes months therefore you may only see one or two small hikes per year.

I think its high time this approach is taken to the gasoline industry......it would provide much needed stability in that industry......they've proven over and over they cannot police themselves and will plunge both our countries into a recession over greed......and don't hand me this s hit about "Oh you cant do that because gasoline is a publicly traded commodity blah blah blah......" SO is natural gas!!.....gasoline is so heavily ingrained in the fabric of North American life to me it is more of a necessity than Natural Gas when you figure the cost of oil based products namely plastics.....In heating there are tons of choices other than Nat Gas (which is controlled), you can go oil, electric, ground source etc.....for all practical purposes at this point in time our cars (to get to work and for daily life) run on gasoline......more reasons for controls

Also up here we find that all stations in an entire area all have the EXACT same price at the pump regardless of company, Shell, Esso, Sunoco etc......I thought price fixing was illegal??......WTF is that???

and yes Ive contacted my Congressman/(Member of Parliment)....I went directly to his office, he's about a mile away.

It is still better than it was last year. I filled up this weekend for less than it cost me to top off last year.

Roger that, Full tank last weekend was $245, last year that was 1/3 tank or a day of fun running!
It is what it is.........in my mind
