Garbage Crews on Strike in Toronto

They have been on strike since June 25th or so. Can't they just fire the ****ers and hire new ones? What a way to destroy a cities rep...

My family has been lucky because we moved to the cottage 2 weeks ago, and i'm only home about two days a week. Other families that live in Toronto full time must be ****ed off like no other.

President Reagan fired a bunch of air traffic controllers in 1981, why can't PM Harper step up to the plate and lay down some law?

Bell Helicopter is doing that in Texas this week. They need to build the choppers and the employees are on strike. They are quoted in the article that they don't want to become the big three automakers since the unions have destroyed them too!

I'm glad to see you are putting your Parent's money to good use at school.....
That would be Prime Minister Harper or Premier McGuinty ...... :D :D

Why doesn't Toronto just do what they did the last time they had a NATURAL DISASTER of EPIC proportions (a 6 inch snowfall) and call in the Army .... :26::26:

so long as when we call the Army in they shoot all the union boys and take care of the garbage Im all for it.

Then we could bring all the unemployed people up at Jane and Finch down and give them the jobs of the recently dispatched garbage workers.

Everyone wins.

I have swim lessons lined up for today and tomorrow, gadda make some cashola! I think I will probably head back to the cottage tomorrrow night or early thursday morning, depends what drink festivities are going on in the city.

ok perl, time for some polisci lessons ( and no I never took it in school )

Garbage pickers along with all the other CUPE workers that are on strike are under contract with the Municipality of Toronto. Nothing the Prime minister can do about it.

The Premier on the other hand could call an emergency session of caucus and draft back to work legislation and then recall the house for a vote. The Conservatives would vote against it just because they could use it against McMoron in the next election and the NDP would vote against it for obvious reason leaving the LIEberals to push it into law. Now all the unions in Ontario would be ****ed at McArsehole for violating their collective bargaining rights ( also known as the gun to the city's head ) and start crying that the Libs had to go ( a good thing IMHO )

Meanwhile, the Prince of Toronto, The Golden one , the useless friggin moron Mayor Miller would publically state to all the leftist media sources that it wasn't his fault the legislation was passed and it wasn't his fault that the workers went on strike and it wasn't his fault that he was a useless tool and on and on ad infinitum.

So, what do you think the chances are that McDickhead will force the unions back?

Nope, instead we will get a settlement that screws over the tax payer just like every other union deal that has happened under Miller and his commie minions on council. They will tell us its a great deal and that taxes will only have to rise 8% to cover the cost but in reality, at budget time they will change that to 5% and say "see, we done good for you lowly citizen bill payers, only 5% more". At the smae time, they will grovel at the feet of the Provincial and Federal governments begging for more money to be granted to them for their ridiculous spending sprees, add 5000 new user fees and "premiums" to the tax payers financial load and the lefty pinkos who live in the city core will vote them back in again.

Civics lesson over.
