Late last summer we were out to dinner with several couples. One of the guys posed the question- "Will gas ever be at $2 a gallon again?" Virtually everyone chuckled.

Last night- $2.19 a gallon.

I have a cousin working somewhere in southwestern OH who claims to have paid $1.98 yesterday morning.

Glad to see it. Oil hovering around 62 bucks a barrel right now. The middle east oil jockies are sweating bullets. Glad to see it. Read an article this week, where many analysts are saying that oil should bottom out somewhere in the $40 range.

I live near Annapolis Maryland and work in Alexandria Va., gas this morning I saw 2.39 in Annapolis... I went to my Richmond office yesterday and saw gas as low as 2.19...

Maybe it will stay that way on the water also. Next year on the water @2.50-3.00 would be nice. But why hasn't diesel gone down yet?

BUT ....... this should pissss you off.

Exxon Mobil posts biggest US quarterly profit ever
HOUSTON, Thu Oct 30, 08:31 AM

Exxon Mobil Corp., the world's largest publicly traded oil company, says it shattered its own record for the biggest profit from operations by a U.S. corporation, earning $14.83 billion in the third quarter.

Bolstered by this summer's record crude prices, the Irving, Texas-based company said Thursday that net income jumped nearly 58 percent, or $2.86 a share in the July-September. That compares with $9.41 billion, or $1.70 a share, a year ago.

The previous record for U.S. corporate profit was set earlier this year, when Exxon Mobil earned $11.68 billion in the second quarter.

Revenue rose 35 percent to $137.7 billion.

On average, analysts expected the company to earn $2.39 per share in the latest quarter on revenue of $131.4 billion.

I had to take my son's truck at lunch to pick something up- of course it's dead-nuts empty.

$1.99 a gallon.

Wouldn't $2. 93 octane on the water be cool for next summer?

Although it should piss people off, you will probably find that a majority of people in this country that have any kind of mutual fund own some Exxon Mobil. So the profits are not just benefitting the company, but all those people.

Almost a 11% profit margin, If they set the record for most profit then they also must have set a record in taxes paid.:D

filled the truck up today at 1.99 and 93 was 2.19.

It's nice to only shell out 43.00 for a fill up instead of 100.00
