Flea treatment for dogs

My vet has always advised Frontline, but it doesn't seem to be working this year, We used K-9 Advantage last year but went back to Frontline.A friend uses another local vet,who is pushing Vectra as the absolute best. There are some internet horror stories about Vectra, but I am always leary of internet rumors. Both vets are highly respected, one swears by Frontline,as our local Pet Depot does, the other says Vectra,What have been your experiences with flea products? Rocky and Spirit and Ellie Mae need advice.

Both Kira and Bo get Frontline, never had an issue. They spend about 30% of their time outside.

Used both Frontline and Advantage, the last two years I've used Revolution by Pfizer. Seems to work well the dogs are out in the barn almost everyday with the horses and don't have fleas.

Frontline has always worked for me. Last year there were some reports of some Frontline, sold on the web, as being counterfeit.

Obviously I don't know the vet, however with a GF in health care I can say that health care is a business before any thing else and I'd venture to say pet care is as well.

I'm just leery when someone is pushing some thing they have a vested interest in (freebies, gifts, etc)

Hope all is well and give them dogs a treat for me- esp Ellie Mae!

We've always used Frontline on our dogs without problems. That said, a buddy of mine that has a much more heavily wooded lot than me is having tick problems with his dogs this year. He's using Frontline like he always has, but it's not working too well for him this year.
