Engine Hatch

How do you pull the batteries and bypass the system to put the hatch down electronically by jumpin with a battery?

i have a jumper wire running off my hatch pump ran under my seat, then i just use either a jump box or a battery to raise and lower it

Any idea why OL, or any boat mfg for that matter, would not install a jump-able system? My Fountain is awesome in that respect. They have a setup with cables and you just plug in and it works great. I left the batteries in the OL, cause I have no way of putting the hatch down otherwise. I tried using the battery charger and 110 power, but I was not able to get that to lower the hatch. The batteries have to be installed to complete the circuit, so I'm not able to close the hatch. Stupid, if you ask me
