Electric Razors... Anyone bought one in the last 12 months? Opinions?

I have had the Braun 7526 Syncro for the past couple years. I actually have two of them, and the newer one took a dump this week. I took the two of them apart and made one good one out of the the best parts.

Has anyone bought one in the past 12 months? If so, what did you buy and are you happy with it? It seams as though the Panasonic razors are pretty nice. Norelco also makes a great razor. I have not had one in years, and have become accustomed to the linear razor vs. the rotary.

I'd like to find a top quality wet/dry razor if anyone has one they can recommend.

Thanks for your inputs.

I've never had luck with electrics, and went back to the old gillete.
Any one of them I've had didn't cut very well, and tended to pluck instead of cut.
I'd love to have a good electric that worked for me.

I am too furry for electric, never had much luck with the rotary (norelco) even when I was younger, missed on the neck:ack2:

I have the Braun 8595 and love it. I had tried several different ones and this one is the best by far.

I had one of those Braun's like that for a few years as well. It broke (the self cleaner thing broke really fast actually) pretty early compared to my expectations. It also didn't cut well, and pulled a lot of hairs which isn't pleasant. Anything longer than day old stubble and it'd pull instead of cut.

I now have a Philips-Norelco rotary, and like it much more. It was also quite a bit less costly too. I do miss the trimmer part of the braun though, it worked very well.

I picked up a Braun series 5 not long ago. Definitely the best razor I have ever used. My girlfriend bought me a remington a year or two ago to replace the braun synchro that was lost by American Airlines and it sucked! Pulled more hair than it cut. The synchro was good but the series 5 is much better.

Same here

I've used the Braun's for 20+ years. Three of them in total. Current one is a few years old. I bought an inexpensive one for my son for his first one and it was like a medeival torture device. Tossed that and got him one of the $200 one's. I'm not the hairiest guy and I could see where someone that is could have problems. But of all the things I've bought over the years, I'd say those have been one of the best, value-wise.

what has this world come too??? it's boating season people!! granted there are people like me who are in school + work and have very little life, but threads about wine and electric razors?? this is serious offshore dammit!!! this is NOT themetrosexualbaylinerenthusiast.com man up people!!!! we are real men, we are suppesed to be scruffy, half drunk jackasses!!!!!!! put the Koolaid down now before it's to late!!!!!!

Sorry phragle, I'm suffering a monetary deficiency at the moment.
Also a job deficiency.
I'm wasting time on things like this.

Thanks. Good to hear. I gave up on electric razors years ago because I couldn't stand 'em and it would end up taking longer than just shaving the old fashioned way.
I may have to rethink it, since years have passed and I'm sure they've improved.

The secret to getting a great shave is opening your pores and allowing the hairs to stand up on end. That's why the barber uses warm shaving foam and/or a warm towel. I've used the new Panasonic in the shower (it's a wet/dry razor) a few times and I've never had a shave this close; not even with a straight razor at the barber.

Have one I use daily to make good edges on goatee. Have to use regular razor. Electric give me bad razor burn.

Have one of the two or three blade electric razors, rechargable.
