Doorbell in the middle of the night? Open the door very carefully...

Guy probably deserved it. :D

Thank goodness for hurricane codes here in FL - doors are required to open outwards...

Wonder if it could've been seen through a peep hole, or side glass.

+1 for FL hurricane codes.........

My buddy got a deal on a house a few years back due to the dead 15 year old on the front lawn. Nice 300k house, neighborhood kids tormented this guy but he answered their ding dong ditch with a 45 and killed the kid. Shot in the back 15 feet from the door, guy walked under the castle law, got 52 weekends in jail for a reduced charge of misuse of a firearm or something.

My buddy has lived there about 4 years now and never has had any pranks pulled.......

How's his civil suit going?

The suction from the low pressure is less than the force of the high pressure winds. That along with the more water up against the door the harder force against the seal vs pushing the door away from the seal.

Just my 2 cents- sure some builder will pop in.

Hurricane codes are more of an impact issue - it's a lot harder to kick open an outswing than an inswing.

Wow, not actually a good "prank". That amount of water can cause lots of damage to hardwood floors or mold in carpets not dried throughly.

That all depends on what the guy did to you...

What if he was boning your wife?

Then it's a good prank. But used motor oil would be better...

I differ from a prank to revenge. Revenge would be gasoline or diesel fuel (smell never gets out) :sifone:

Just playing devils advocate there.

Not that I would condone such a thing...

And fuel is too expensive, used motor oil=cheap.

Guy was very slick, he retained Roy Black as the attorney and all of his assets were in a trust.......ZERO payout for the victim's family. The guy was an self employed accountant by trade.....The house was soon mortgaged to 100% value so when it sold, no assets to seize.

Tough case, it was 11 pm and kid was running loose in the neighborhood, definitely up to no good. Guy was in bed and the door banging/doorbell started. Another kid was an accomplice and witnessed the whole event. Kid was a punk who at 16 was almost 6 ft/ 200 lbs and the shooter was like 5'7 160 so the guy might have been intimidated buuuuuttttt he had a locked door separating him from the kid. The shooter opened the door and fired.

Pretty good........wind pressure can easily knock a door in, harder for the door to be compromised if it has to swing open. I have a 2001 home, up to Dade county code. 3 big hurricanes passed within 50 miles and I never had a single house issue, not even a single roof tile flying away. One storm hovered for like 10-12 hours and the doors would "breathe" in and out at the top/bottom of the doors. My front door was metal and the door would suck out 1/3 of an inch at the outside corners....not a good look/feel. The problem has been rectified but in the height of the storm I was definitely thinking of a plan if that door blew out.

Just a few blocks away in an older neighborhood shingle roofs lost 50% of their shingles, windows/doors blown out like they got hit by the swat team with the door buster! Saw docks blown away like they never existed, sea walls collapsed. Hurricane codes definitely improved the quality of the homes over the past few years.

there was little chance of those two fellows boning a woman, watch the vid again ,probably the only gay guys in the neighborhood, couple of nancy's for sure (most(all) bodybuilders are gay) as a construction guy I will say we put in new doors to open out and after final inspection (CO) we go back and change it to open in so you can have a screen door if you want. :reddevil:

Maybe not right, maybe not justified but can't help but think he did the world a favor. The punk kid may have turned his life around but not likely.
