Dell laptop adapter

The shop has a Dell 1420 Inspiron laptop that we have loaded the Diacom engine diagnostic CD on to work on our boats. But the screen is too dim to see running on the battery. A buddy has a plug in adapter with alligator clips for the boat battery,I assume it acts as an inverter to run on 110 volt. He can't remember where he bought it.The Dell website is too complicated for me.Can anyone give me a part # or where I can buy one?

Call the 800 number. MAKE SURE THAT YOU GET THE EXACT PART!! I have an Inspirion and ordered the power adapter that way. There are hundreds of combinations.

Radio Shack, Wal Mart, etc all sell small 12v/110v inverters. $30 gets you there.

I have one in every car and truck. You never know- I always seem to need a bit of AC.
