Excellent shots Pete. Great work on the prop planes, showing the prop blur.
In reference to the F/A-18 cone shot, what you are look at is water vapor, that is
suspended in the transonic shock wave, as the aircraft gets close to Mach 1.
Some of the airflow is traveling at sub-sonic speeds, and some of the airflow is traveling
at super-sonic speeds. The point of the convergence, is the trans-sonic area or shockwave.
My 16 year old, really like #8, that is where he is presently studying.
