CT firefighters and the Supreme Court

Today the supreme court handed down their decision in favor of the firefighters. To summarize their case, several years ago the fire dept gave its annual promotion exam. several white firefighters passed, not a single black firefighter passed. the results of the exam were then thrown out and no one was promoted on the racial grounds that it must have somehow been unfair to blacks. the court found in favor of the firefighters and stated that "the decision to throw away the results by the dept was based solely on race. regardless of the race(s) involved the design was purely racial discrimination"

I think I hear papers ruffling at law offices across the country.

Wow, the Supreme Court actually made a sound, logical decision.

What was the vote split? 5-4 or was it actually a mandate?

heard about this earlier i think it's awesome. affirmative action should be done away with now. if you're good enough for the job regardless of your color you should get it. if you suck ass at the job you should get fired if you're white or black. I mean, a black guy is president.

The odd part is it is an overrule of Sotomayor. How did the judge vote she is up for replacing???????
