Last time the cops went on strike (of course it has happened before, it's a democrat town) there was unrest among the natives.

Last time I was 15 or 16, right around the 4th of july. Walked to the carryout, bought 2 cases of beer and a huge bag of m80's and various other explosive devices from a guy that set up a munnitions dump in the parking lot.

Are we allowed to say that cops who break the law to strike over a deal that they passed up last week suck, or does that make us extremists? I want to be able to identify the helicopter. Life flight flies over once in a while.

Palm Beach county may have a firefighter "sick out" coming shorty.....they are short 180mm in the budget and want to raise the sales tax in one county to 7.5% from 6.5. Needless to say the locals say cut the budget, early retire the top 10% earners, freeze hiring and no new equipment/buildings.

Not allowed here either. Which is what makes it illegal.

They just all get sick at once and stay home. They don't picket.

The problem with striking is that sometimes it creates the opportunity for your employer to realize how you aren't as important as they thought.

It happened in NH last year at a printing company. Union wanted more money/benefits, they went on strike. Company said they couldn't make any money and closed up shop. 500 people stunned and unemployed!


No one in America seems to think they are at their maximum employment value! Most jobs have a wage ceiling, you can't make more in that job/position. If you don't like that fact, time to switch ladders and change jobs!
