I bought a VGA cable to hook my laptop to the tv for baseball and netflix movies, I cannot get it to work . the tv is compatible and I have it on the pc station, I ran it through wifi, maybe I need to go directly from the modem? audio works (separate cable) what am I doing wrong ?:confused:

Does the TV have a separate menu select for the vga? Possibly you have your output resolution too high or too low. Some of the older laptops didn't have enough video memory to get higher resolutions. Also, the number of colors setting on the PC could be causing an issue.

This might be silly but are you using Fn + f8 (or whatever he CRT/LCD is on your laptop) to send the signal? Sometimes tv's won't auto detect.

My old laptop was like that- you had to toggle between the built in screen or the output. Forgot about that one.

What kind of laptop is it? On my HP it is Function F4 to toggle between external monitor and built in. Mine is only 2 years old and I have to toggle when I hook it up to the TV but i use S-Video and not VGA.
