Clunker Pickups Traded for New Pickups

I have a couple of daily drivers. But I have owned a pickup truck of one kind or another since the mid-eighties and I will only be going larger this next (upcoming 3/4 ton) truck.

I went from a 1/2 ton to a 3500 dually. Loved that truck.
Then went back to a 1500, great truck, but just didn't feel right.
Found the 3/4 Avalanche, and I think it's the best vehicle I've ever owned. I love the look of it, and with the 8100 in it, I have no worries about power.
Only 43K on it now, so I don't intend on buying a new truck anytime soon.

I have owned a GM pick up since 1989, always at least one to as many as 4 at one time. They serve a purpose that a Prius never will. If I didn't need one for work or boat pulling I would never own one (they are slow, handle like sh!t and get bad gas mileage). But until I no longer need one, I will always have one! I think the same of all SUV's as well.

I just couldn't even think of not having a truck in the stable.
Slow - not mine
Handle like sh!t - not mine
Bad gas mileage - yeah, guilty.

True, but... I would like to own a 3/4 ton truck for towing the boat (once or twice a year), a two-seater convertable for "pleasure driving", and a fuel efficient (maybe even electric) car for daily comutes.

Just because someone has/needs a truck, it doesn't mean they can't own something else.

Silverado 2500HD 4x4
Mercedes Benz SL-500
Harley Softail Custom
Chevy Volt

Here's my answer to that.:sifone: Oh, and the 2 seater gets good enough milage to be a commuter.:willy_nilly:
