Back in the 1990s, when I was on the same race course with Chuck Norris, it was funny to see Don Johnson and Kurt Russell with an army of bodyguards wherever they went in public, but Good 'ol Chuck was often seen alone and was totally friendly with anybody who approached him. He was never rude or refused to sign an autograph or pose for a picture with his fans. Once I stepped into an elevator he was riding and he was amused when I told him it was the safest I felt in a long time.
