I've driven over that bridge a few times. That will really screw with traffic on the west coast....

Three people were rescued from a river after a bridge along Interstate-5 in Washington State collapsed on Thursday evening, plunging cars into Skagit River below, according to Washington State Patrol.

MSNBC's Milissa Rehberger reports that people and cars were in the water after an I-5 bridge collapsed over the Skagit River in Washington state.

The extent of the injuries for the three is unclear, but all were evaluated on scene and were transported to area hospitals, according to Marcus Deyerin of the Washington Incident Management Team. Authorities say they have no reason to believe any others are still in the river.

Most summers I go to our cottage every weekend or to Seattle a few times a year. All these trips take me over that bridge. I get the big three networks out of Seattle and all night they covered the bridge. 3 injured with two being released from hospital last night, one in hospital is stable condition. Luckily no fatalities.

Just got off the phone with my parents. They want to go open the cottage. Asked if I wanted to go with them. I don't want to sit in the traffic this will create, so said no thanks. Main route from Vancouver to Seattle, or even Oregon and California from Canada.

Turns out it was a Canadian truck driver that caused the bridge to collapse.......I hope you have a solid alibi Poncho:toetap05:

I have a good alibi was at home watching it unfold on TV. I did drive a flat bed truck when we still had apple orchards, took apples from the field to packing house. Got stopped at an inspection station once and fined for being overweight.

I can't remember that bridge well. Is that just south of the Anacortas exit where we'd put the boat in to go to the San Juans or just north? I also had a uncle who lived in Sedro Woolley. Had another uncle who worked on Ross LAke for the Dam maintenance crew.

Trying to remember pretty sure its north of the bridge. Took the Anacortes exit once when I was going to Victoria via the Washington State Ferries. Lived in the states from 02 to 08, but registered my car at my uncles in Victoria. I know a Costco is near the bridge because I've shopped at it for cottage supplies.

Kiro news a Seattle station sent a reporter from Peace Arch border crossing to Seattle and it took him 10hrs. Normally its about 2 1/2 hrs.
