FORT LAUDERDALE — A man riding a dirt bike on a sidewalk died after a van veered off a street and struck him Monday night, the Broward Sheriff's Office reported.
Errol Beckford, 33, of Fort Lauderdale, was pronounced dead at Broward General Medical Center soon after the 9:30 p.m. crash.
Authorities said Willie Sharp, 62, also of Fort Lauderdale, was driving a 1999 Dodge van south on Northwest 27th Avenue and tried to turn left onto Northwest Sixth Street. Sharp turned too wide and the van went onto the sidewalk, striking Beckford, the Sheriff's Office reported.
Sharp could face charges, pending an investigation.
