BEST influence in offshore last 4 decades ?

Love him or hate him, where do you feel Reggie Fountain figures into this discussion? He has certainly been a big influence with sponsorship, manufacturing raceboats (US and internationally) and hosting races in Washington, NC.

I give Reggie the credit of marketing offshore to the general public...he started the 6-8 page ad campaigns back in the eighties and without that I don't think the everyday boater would be as in tune with offshore as he is today!!!

Suffice it to say there is a list of influential people that have helped offshore over the years....Crouse, Red Crise, Aronow, Brownie, T2x the list is long so where do you start Gar Wood comes to mind Elton Cary...I can go on!!!! Keikhaffer hands down conquered the marine propulsion industry hands down!!!!!

Dont let me forget to add this the reason I got into this insanity was because I was skipping school one day at Sombrero Beach in Marathon and had the luxury of meeting and watching Betty Cook test her Scarab

Sean,,but u have to agree,,back in those days there was allot of free money involved ...u know what i mean.

Today there is not that much around anymore.....brown paper bags barried in the backyard and stuff like that !!!!
