On The Road To Socialism? We've Arrived!

'Where the U.S. government usually consumes 21% of gross domestic product, this Obama budget spends 28% in 2009 and runs a deficit of $1.75 trillion, or 12.7% of GDP. That is four times the largest deficit of George W. Bush and twice as large a share of the economy as any deficit run since World War II."

"Add that 28% of GDP spent by the U.S. government to the 12% spent by states, counties and cities, and government will consume 40% of the economy in 2009."

"Since the budget was released, word has come that the U.S. economy did not shrink by 3.8% in the fourth quarter, but 6.2%. All the assumptions in Obama's budget about growth in 2009 and 2010 need to be revised downward, and the deficits revised upward. Look for the deficit for 2009 to cross $2 trillion."

"In his speech to Congress, Obama promised new investments in energy, education and health care. Every kid is going to get a college degree. We're going to find a cure for cancer....Who is going to pay for all this? The top 2%, the filthy rich who got all those Bush tax breaks, say Democrats. But the top 5% of income earners already pay 60% of income taxes, while the bottom 40% pay nothing...Those paying a federal tax rate of 35% will see it rise to near 40% and will lose a fifth of the value of their deductions for taxes, mortgage interest and charitable contributions."

I can't wait...we're phucked. :leaving:

What really pisses me off is the GOP is doing NOTHING to stop it. I realise they dont have the votes but the least they could do is raise hell.

The GOP now has Rush Limbaugh has it's unofficial leader. He is a right-wing fanatic, and the party is going down the drain with him.

If the Dems want to paint the Republican party as the party of the "angry white man", then Limbaugh is the perfect symbol.

It's a sad time for true conservatives. :(

a few Limbaugh quotes...

"Feminism was established to allow unattractive women easier access to the mainstream."

"He is exaggerating the effects of the disease. He's moving all around and shaking and it's purely an act. ... This is really shameless of Michael J. Fox. Either he didn't take his medication or he's acting." --on an ad by Michael J. Fox

"This is no different than what happens at the Skull and Bones initiation...I'm talking about people having a good time, these people, you ever heard of emotional release? You ever heard of the need to blow some steam off?" --on the Abu Ghraib prisoner abuse scandal

"Too many whites are getting away with drug use...Too many whites are getting away with drug sales...The answer is to go out and find the ones who are getting away with it, convict them, and send them up the river, too." --in 1995

"I am addicted to prescription pain medication." --in 2003

"We're not sexists, we're chauvinists -- we're male chauvinist pigs, and we're happy to be because we think that's what men were destined to be. We think that's what women want."

"The NAACP should have riot rehearsal. They should get a liquor store and practice robberies."

"They oughtta change Black History Month to Black Progress Month and start measuring it."

"Sorry to say this, I don't think he's been that good from the get-go. I think what we've had here is a little social concern in the NFL. The media has been very desirous that a black quarterback do well." --on Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb, while working as a commentator on ESPN

"The only way to reduce the number of nuclear weapons is to use them."

"Take the bone out of your nose and call me back"

and of course... "I want him to fail" - speaking of then president-elect Obama.

hows this qoute..

Obama promises change, a new day
His cabinet, Al Sharpton and Dr. Dre

he wanted the inauguration in martin luther king arena
now he's changed the national anthem to Funky Cold Medina...

Limbaugh has been proven right on McNabb being over-rated. Too bad ESPN made him fall on his sword when the "other" side took offense to an OPINION.

Clay, please, the Dem party wants people to think Rush is the de facto leader of the party http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0309/19596.html They have orchestrated a plan to pull the wool over on people to cover their own sorry mess. They needed another boogie man otherwise O might have to take the blame for the mess he has created. I personally never listen to Rush anymore and frankly if anyone had spoken literally millions of recorded words on a controversial show and that is the best they could come up with, they aren't trying hard enough. Hell, they didn't even mention Caller Abortions.

Oh, and I was humiliated way worse in the Boy F'ing Scouts during initiation than those terrorists at Abu Ghraib....

did you eat the wrong brownie in your attempt to munch girl scout nookies??

No, but I was mentally and physically bruised, I still cry a little when I think about it :ack2:

But hey, I learned to drink, smoke, and steal motor vehicles in the Scouts, so there was an upside to it :26:
